December 22, 2012: 10/22/08
"December 22, 2012" is actually the second poem by Sophie M. White I've read. She had one published in last year's December issue but I didn't review it. December 22, 2012, if you're curious, is a Saturday. It's also a day that the un-named protagonist laments not paying more attention to. She (I'm assuming it's a she for the "climbing roses tattooed" on the spine) was too busy rebelling to pay attention to any warnings. In sixteen lines Sophie White asks a stumper of a question. What would your reaction be if the world came to an end? How would you feel if the day had been accurately predicted for centuries and you had ignored it? Comments (0)
