Goodnight Goon: 02/02/10
Goodnight Goon is Michael Rex's parody of Goodnight Moon. Although I have children, Goodnight Moon isn't one of our regular books. We only got a copy a couple years ago. So the allure for Goodnight Goon isn't the parody for us. It's the monsters. I borrowed the book from our local library during one of my hunts for monster books. Sean enjoyed the artwork more than he did the rhyming story. We read it through twice and the third time he only looked at the illustrations. Harriet, how knows the original book best of all of us, laughed at the parody. She has an excellent memory for lyrics and poetry. She had fun explaining the jokes to Sean and me.
