What Are You Reading: April 25, 2011: 04/25/11
I'll be turning in my second children's book project on Friday. That means I'm done with reading for the project. Next week's post should be a saner amount of books on the "Finished Last Week" list. The reading strictly for fun last week included The Brother Gardeners, Soul Eater Volume 1, xxxHolic Volume 3 and Fullmetal Alchemist Volume 12. Harriet also read to me There is a Bird on Your Head! and Watch Me Through the Ball! both by Mo Willems. Right now I have another Elizabeth Hand book going, Mortal Love. It's not striking me in the same visceral way that the other two did but I'm still enjoying it. I'm also reading through some more anime. I really want to finish Ouran High School Host Club Volume 2 soon. Coming up I'll be reading a Harry Harrison book, more manga, more assigned reading for school and whatever else strikes my fancy. Happy reading, Comment #2: Monday, April 25, 2011 at 22:16:30 Pussreboots This week will have a lot of academic journal reading and paper writing. But I have some good manga home to fill in the gaps when I'm not reading for school. Comment #3: Monday, April, 25, 2011 at 04:20:23 It's always nice to see a manga in someone's read. I think they are equally as good as novel Comment #4: Monday, April 25, 2011 at 22:17:42 Pussreboots I think for really complex story lines, they're better than a novel. Comment #5: Monday, April, 25, 2011 at 08:36:15 Congrats on finishing your project. Looks like you have some great books planned. Enjoy! Comment #6: Monday, April 25, 2011 at 22:18:23 Pussreboots Thank you. I still have two much shorter projects for other classes but they should be a breeze compared to the one I just finished. Comment #7: Monday, April, 25, 2011 at 08:42:42 Have a fab week! See what I'm reading here and don't forget to link your British book reviews on Read My Review, hosted on my blog. xxx Comment #8: Monday, April 25, 2011 at 22:20:24 Pussreboots Thank you for stopping by. Comment #14: Monday, April 25, 2011 at 22:22:30 Pussreboots This week I'll probably finish fewer books than I have in previous weeks now that I'm not reading for the project. Comment #15: Monday, April, 25, 2011 at 13:40:05 I'm curious about The Owl and the Pussycat, since there was a movie with this title in the sixties. Thanks for sharing...and for visiting my blog. Comment #16: Monday, April 25, 2011 at 22:24:34 Pussreboots It's the standard Edward Lear poem with beautiful paintings by a British artist who specializes in cats. I haven't seen the 1960s film. Comment #17: Monday, April, 25, 2011 at 19:56:24 The Wonderful Wizard of Oz!!! I'd love to read that book, must add it to my list. Happy reading :) Comment #18: Monday, April 25, 2011 at 22:26:35 Pussreboots You should, it's a delightful book. I don't expect to finish all of my current reads this week. Comment #23: Tuesday, April, 26, 2011 at 03:02:26 So, it looks like now you're finished with the project you can read what you want. You're making good use of the library! Comment #24: Wednesday, April 27, 2011 at 22:27:30 Pussreboots I still have some other homework reading to do and I will be taking a class during summer school. But I do have more free time now to read what I want (or time to do something other than read). Comment #25: Tuesday, April, 26, 2011 at 04:38:31 Looks like you've got through a lot of reading this week Comment #26: Wednesday, April 27, 2011 at 22:31:43 Pussreboots Yes, out of sheer necessity. Comment #29: Tuesday, April, 26, 2011 at 11:26:20 Thank you for your comment! I always think that your reading list is massive and can't really understand where you find the time. Comment #30: Wednesday, April 27, 2011 at 22:34:12 Pussreboots I'm a fulltime student. A lot of my reading right now is homework. Comment #31: Tuesday, April, 26, 2011 at 15:31:51 Wow! You are a truly prolific reader! Woot! I'm off to read a review or two! Comment #32: Wednesday, April 27, 2011 at 22:35:53 Pussreboots Thank you. I'm a student and much of that reading was homework. Comment #33: Tuesday, April, 26, 2011 at 20:18:57 Busy reading week but lovely selection of books! I;m thinking of jumping on the Rick Riordan bandwagon over summer- everyone loves some mythology! Alas both copies of Conrad's Fate are on loan at my library.. but I'll be posting a review post of my DWJ rereads regardless! Have a great week! Comment #34: Wednesday, April 27, 2011 at 22:37:01 Pussreboots Drat about Conrad's Fate. If you like Greek mythology you'll probably like the Percy Jackson series. Comment #35: Tuesday, April, 26, 2011 at 22:57:52 I'm really hoping to get around to XXXholic some time after I finish my current manga series. It sounds really cool. Comment #36: Wednesday, April 27, 2011 at 22:39:25 Pussreboots XxxHolic is my second favorite manga series right now. The top spot goes to Fullmetal Alchemist. I plan to also read Tsubasa: Resevoir Chronicles which has some shared plot points with xxxHolic but I haven't gotten aroudn to it yet. Comment #37: Tuesday, April, 26, 2011 at 23:16:56 MarthaE http://marthasbookshelf.blogspot.com/ Oh what a list! Well - I know The Wizard of Oz story! LOL. In fact my DH and I have invested in a movie coming out next year in 3D animation - Dorothy of Oz...it is very exciting! Have another great reading week.
