Book Blogger Hop for May 06, 2011: 05/05/11

Book Blogger HopToday's question asks us which book blogger I would like to meet in person.

I am lucky to live in a book loving area. I have two different groups of book lovers I meet with on a regular basis. My first group is BookCrossing which meets the second Tuesday of every month. The next is a small group of local book bloggers who get together semi-regularly for lunch.

BookCrossing is a book release site where users register books and then release them in the wild. Meeting other members isn't a requirement but I've been attending the monthly meetings since 2005.

Among my BookCrossing friends, I'm the only book blogger. So that brings me to my other group of book loving friends: the Bay Area book bloggers. A year ago Pam of Bookalicio.us contacted me via Twitter and asked me if I'd like to come to lunch. Since then I've been having lunch with her, Laura of I'm Booking It and Debbie of Debbie's World of Books.

Popping in again to say Hi! My Book Blogger Hop response is below, Sessha Batto, writer, artist and the most extraordinarily generous human being it has been my pleasure not to have met yet...

Have a lovely weekend.

I don't think I've heard of Sessha Batto before. I will stop by later to learn more.

Thanks for visiting me at Hands and Home! I wish that I had a group of book blogging friends that I could meet up with, but there aren't all that many that I know if in my area of Ontario.

Ontario has an active Bookcrossing population. I don't know if any of them are book bloggers thought.

I'm jealous that you get to meet with book bloggers on a regular basis! I live in an area where the closest one (that I know of) is an hour (or more) drive away.

I was really surprised to learn how many bookbloggers were in my area. Sorry to hear that you're on your own.

Ive met so many great people via the Book Book Blogger Con at Book Expo America I honestly can't come up with a single name of a book blogger I want to meet but haven't yet!

I'm heading back to BBC @ BEA. I hope to see you there!

Hop on by my blog and just say hi

Comment #24: Friday, May 6, 2011 at 19:35:51

HI, thanks for stopping by my blog.
I haven't met any of my fellow bloggers, most are based in America and I'm in UK. Wish I could attend the BEA that's coming up, but just not possible. :(

It's great you get to see so many book lovers.

Have a great weekend.
:D

I'm as far away from BEA as you are and can't afford to go. I know of quite a few Bookbloggers who are also members of BookCrossing in the UK.

That's cool that you live in such a book-loving area. I'm the same way. There are so many book bloggers in Utah and we get together twice a year with a lot of the local authors too. We've had a few big names at our gatherings: James Dashner, Shannon Hale, Ally Condie. It's pretty cool.

I wish I lived in a bloggy area but I haven't found a fellow blogger in my area. Maybe I need to ask around.
