What Are You Reading: April 23, 2012: 04/22/12

What Are You Reading? One research paper is done, save for editing it. The other one, I will begin writing this week now that I'm done taking notes. As I'm where I need to be to finish on time, I took the weekend off to read for fun and recharge my brain.

My favorite read last week was I am Half-Sick of Shadows by Alan Bradley. It's the fourth in the Flavia de Luce series. Now I'm switching gears and I'm listening to the third of the Goldy Bear mysteries, The Cereal Murders by Dianne Mott Davidson and reading Deadly Décisions by Kathy Reichs.

I still want to finish The Lost Cities: A Drift House Voyage by Dale Peck. And I still plan to start Abraham Lincoln, Vampire Hunter by Seth Grahame-Smith. I would also like to finish Watchlist: A Serial Thriller edited by Jeffery Deaver. I doubt I will, though, as it's a rather long audio book.

What about you?

Finished:

  1. Al Capone Shines My Shoes (audio) by Gennifer Choldenko (library book)
  2. The Art of Choosing by Sheena Iyengar (library book)
  3. Broken for You by Stephanie Kallos (library book)
  4. Brownie & Pearl Take a Dip by Cynthia Rylant (library book)
  5. Goodnight, Goodnight Construction Site by Sherri Duskey Rinker (library book)
  6. I Am Half Sick Of Shadows by Alan Bradley (library book)
  7. I Love Bugs! by Philemon Sturges (library book)
  8. Liberty Falling by Nevada Barr (personal collection)
  9. Mark Tidd in the Backwoods by Clarence Budington Kelland (personal collection)
  10. The Police Cat by Enid Hinkes (library book)
  11. The Pricker Boy by Reade Scott Whinnem (library book)

Currently Reading:

  1. 1Q84 by Haruki Murakami (personal collection)
  2. Amped: A Novel by Daniel H. Wilson (review copy)
  3. The Cereal Murders (audio) by Diane Mott Davidson (personal collection)

A good week even with research papers too.
I have read A Cereal Murder and Deadly Decisions. I think I am current up to the latest Tempe book. Have a great week.

I have four or five of the Tempe books in my collection. I'm reading them as I can and not in any particular order.

I have been trying to read multiple books at a time, but usually one grabs my interest more than another, and I just want to go with that one! I'd like to read IQ84 sometime. :)

Out of my weekly pile of books, I usually have one book that has my attention more than the others. While I'll be reading maybe five pages a day on most of the books, the main book I'll be reading more like fifty to one hundred pages.

You had a very good week. I just read your review of PIRATE KING and think I should find out more about THE PIRATES OF PENZANCE since all I really know is the title. I am enjoying the story without the information though.

There was a movie in 1983 and you might be able to borrow a CD of the operetta from your library. Good luck!

I like the Diane Mott Davidson books. Cute title - The Cereal Murders.

Enjoy your books, and thanks for visiting my blog.

Kristin @ Always With a Book

I would like to read the Flavia de Luce series — I'm heard mixed reaction to it, but I'm still intrigued.

Have a great week!

I've just caught up with the end of the series but the author says he's planning three more.

A bunch of them I skimmed this week. It wasn't the most enticing of weeks for reading.

I have to ask — how can you read so many books at the same time? I can only focus on one or two (at most!)

How many TV shows do you follow in a week? How many bands are you a fan of? Following multiple books a few pages at a time is no different.

Lisa @ Lost in Literature

I'm so impressed with the amount you read. It's awesome! Enjoy your books this week! :)

A couple books I was close to finishing after weeks of slowing reading, so I finished them. A couple more weren't catching all of my attention so I skimmed them. Some of them were picture books.

Gosh I haven't heard of any of these. I'm thinking of reading a new suspense thriller by Jeremy Bates called White Lies .

Great week and congrats on getting one paper down. I think I'll have to look for Al Capone Shines my Shoes. Sounds funny.

Pussreboots

Start with Al Capone Does My Shirts. Although the titles are funny the books aren't comedies. They are good reads, though.
