Ribbit Rabbit: 03/03/13
Ribbit Rabbit by Candace Ryan is about a frog and a bunny who are best friends. They do everything together until they have a falling out. Trying to go their own way doesn't work out either. Their actions are illustrated with short i and short a words, most of which rhyme with the title. For example: zip it, zap it. But when the two are squabbling, they swap words. The book is a good introduction to blending sounds for children who are pre-reading. For children who have moved up to Easy Readers might find the book too simplistic — that was the case with my daughter. Three stars Comments (0) |
