Clink, the titular character in Kelly DiPucchio's picture book is a robot who specializes in making toast. He's been waiting his turn in the robot shop, hoping to find a forever home and now it looks like his time is up. Clink, though, is getting rusty. He's missing parts. He burns his toast. And yet, in his heart of hearts, he longs for someone to take him home. Matthew Myers's illustrations are colorful and vaguely retro. His paintings have a similar style to Mark Tegue. The book's best suited for fans of robots or kids who like to tinker with stuff. Three stars Comments (0) |
