Wandering Son: Volume 2: 04/29/16
Wandering Son: Volume 2 by Shimura Takako is a book I wish I had taken the time to review sooner while the details were fresher in my mind. Unfortunately I read it in the middle of the CYBILs as a break from having to think critically about dozens of newly published books. In the second volume, just as Shuichi and his friend are getting more comfortable in their true selves but not enough so to dress as they want to in front of their families. This causes some trouble, especially after Shuichi's sister finds out and worse, after the boy she's crushing on falls for Shuichi instead. I remember holding my breath while reading a lot of tense scenes, hoping for the best but expecting the worst for Shuichi. Usually the scene played out somewhere in the middle.
