My Kind of Mystery Reading Challenge 2017 February - January 2017-8

It's Monday! What Are You Reading? (November 13): 11/06/17

It's Monday! What Are You Reading? (November 13)
Hosted by Kathryn of Book Date.

We're out of the apartment. We've turned in the keys. All that's left is unpacking boxes and bringing the books back from storage. We started this whole crazy moving project a year ago.

Tuesday we had our Girl Scout troop meeting for November. With the time change we moved indoors. We've grown so much that we need two classrooms.

I'm keeping up with Nanowrimo. As of Sunday night, I have 19,400 words.

What I read:

Piecing Me Together
Piecing Me Together by Renée Watson; library book
Refugee
Refugee by Alan Gratz; library book
Beast & Crown
Beast & Crown by Joel Ross; library book
Sea Lady
Sea Lady by Margaret Drabble; library book

What I'm reading:

Not the Killing Type
Not the Killing Type by Lorna Barrett; personal collection (audio)
The Great Shelby Holmes Meets Her Match
The Great Shelby Holmes Meets Her Match by Elizabeth Eulberg; personal collection
The Epic Fail of Arturo Zamora
The Epic Fail of Arturo Zamora by Pablo Cartaya; library book

Up Next:

Player Piano
Player Piano by Kurt Vonnegut Jr.; personal collection
Sweet Shadows
Sweet Shadows by Tera Lynn CHilds; library book
Macy McMillan and the Rainbow Goddess

Thanks! I'm looking forward to reading them.

I enjoy Margaret Drabble's books...and when I saw Mrs. Saint and the Defectives, I was reminded that I have it! I need to read it soon.

So glad that you're finally ready to settle into your new home.

Enjoy the week, and thanks for visiting my blog.

That was my first Margert Drabble book. When I read another one, I'll make sure to give it more time. Unfortunately I ran out of renwals and had to cram through it.

I'm so happy to be basically done with moving. Now things are just in storage and we can control the time line for how and when we bring those things home.

How cool to have such a growing troop. I have fond memories of my time as a Girl Scout.

The growing troop is good in that we've caught the attention of our council and the school principal. But it's also a ton of work. Rewarding but stressful. I hope our girls grow up to have fond memories of their experience too.

Nice assortment of books. I liked Shelby Holmes Meets Her Match. I also have Sweet Shadows on TBR mountain. I'll be eager to hear what you think of it. Come see my week here. Happy reading!

I'm about a third of the way through Shelby Holmes Meets Her Match and I'm enjoying it.

Congrats on NaNo so far! That's great! And also on the move being complete? That must be a good feeling. :)

Thanks re Nanowrimo. I'm having fun getting a story that's been rattling around in my head finally out of my head. The move is done in that the condo is sold. THe house is bought. The apartment is moved out of and the keys are returned. We do still have most of our home library still in storage but there's no deadline for getting them out of there.

Good for you for keeping up with Nanowrimo! I started and then I switched to nanowri2mo (my own invention!) I wish Nano were in a different month because November is so busy for us that I barely have time to write!

November is a tough month for writing. But I'm managing to keep up this year.

Erin @ Quixotic Magpie

Wow that is great on both the word count and on being totally out of the apartment. :) Refugee looks like it would hurt my heart to read, but also like a very good book. Have a great week!

Refugee is worth reading. Yes it's sad but it's well written, relevant, and not preachy.

The move is basically done. We need to bring home our books from storage and we need to save up and buy more furniture. But we're moved in and living comfortably.

Looks like you read another great mix of books last week. Hoping that moving all the books into the house goes smoothly. Would love to see a picture of your shelves once everything is done.

Realistically it will be another couple of months before all the books are out of storage. I'm hoping to have sorted through the books before June of next year.

Thanks. So far it's been a slow reading week. I've finished two books but I'm hoping to get through more before Saturday.
