It's Monday! What Are You Reading? (November 20): 11/20/17
The kids are off school this week for Thanksgiving. That means I get to sleep in a little and I don't have to pick them up from school. Over the weekend we figured out what kind of gas fireplace we want to replace the current one — a vintage early 1960s thing that is neither safe nor efficient. We also ordered a couch and loveseat — the first nice living room furniture we will have owned in years. Our last couch be bought in 2001 and it lasted us until about 2012. I'm keeping up with Nanowrimo. As of Sunday night, I have 32,500 words. What I read:

Comment #7: Monday November, 20, 2017 at 10:34:19 Kathy Martin Your kids have the whole week off? I was ecstatic when they did the calendar and we got the Wednesday before Thanksgiving off instead of just Thursday and Friday. It sure made life easier when I had to travel for the holiday. I'm reading Sweet Shadows right now too. Come see my week here. Happy reading! Comment #8: Monday November 20, 2017 at 22:15:19 Pussreboots I never had he whole week off when I was a kid. I think it's just something the school districts do here. Our town and the next one over both give kids off the whole week. It's funny how os many of us are reading Sweet Shadows right now given that it's not new. Comment #9: Monday, November, 20, 2017 at 16:32:06 You're the second person for the day who's got Sweet Shadows on their TBR list. Looking forward to hearing how you find it. Comment #10: Monday November 20, 2017 at 22:18:19 Pussreboots Isn't it funny how Sweet Shadows has popped up in so many of our lists this week? Comment #11: Monday, November 20, 2017 at 17:53:29 I’m really curious about the Miles Morales book by Jason Reynolds. Reynolds is currently my favorite author. Comment #17: Saturday, January 20, 2018 at 03:53:16 That's a long time to have furniture! I inherited/claimed before it was thrown out, a couch that's about 20 years old and has pen drawing on it :) I hope you enjoy/enjoyed Sweet Shadows, I did, and it was such a great read! Thanks for stopping by! Happy reading! Comment #18: Saturday, January 20, 2018 at 14:09:00 Pussreboots We tend to go through waves of having money and not. So when we do, we try to replace things that need replacing. And then we make sure they last. I did enjoy Sweet Shadows and will blog about it in March. |
