It's Monday! What Are You Reading?
Hosted by Kathryn of Book Date.

With the kids back in school, I'm back to painting regularly. I'm currently working on part one of a two painting project for home — portraits of my current cats. After that I'll get back to painting things to sell. I think I should get back into doing some bird portraits.

I'm also working on another sketch book for the Brooklyn Art Library. This time I'm using my sketchbook to explore the idea of painting fireworks. The sketchbook gives me a way to try different styles before committing to something larger.

On Saturday my husband and I drove our daughter to visit her best-friend who recently moved almost sixty miles away with her family.

We stopped for breakfast on our way out.

My problem is that I see wonderful books on blogs, go to my library webpage, and I always am able to request them. When the books come in, I set aside my personal books to read the library books.

It's my blogging friends' fault, I think, for getting so far behind in my TBR.

You have just added to the problem, as I have now added Shortest Way Home, Gods of Jade and Shadow, and Life as an Ice Cream Sandwich. lol

Have a great week!

I am keeping away from the library until January to focus just on my books at home. It's refreshing. I agree that the other book blogs are full of tempting titles. Gods of Jade and Shadow and My Life as an Ice Cream Sandwich are both excellent.

Great paintings. I love stopping at diners when I'm traveling.

Enjoy your week.

We like diners when traveling too. This trip was basically a local one — albeit a long one.

Your artwork is so beautiful. My mother-in-law has finally got back to painting after her move. She set up a little studio in their garage. What did you think of Gods of Jade and Shadow? I have that one on my TBR pile to read.I hope you are enjoying your current books. Wilder Girls is one I have been hearing a lot about. I hope you have a great week!

Her studio sounds nice. My "studio" is a card table and a chest of drawers in my living room. When we have company over, I fold up my table and put it away. I liked Gods of Jade and Shadow and my review is here. I'm only about thirty pages into Wilder Girls; I'm not sure what I think of it yet.

I am going to have to look up Small Spaces in a moment. The cover really caught my eye! Wilder Girls sounds really good. I am still debating if I want to get it or not. Hope you have a great week!

I'll be curious to see what you think of Wilder Girls. I saw the ARC but didn't choose it. Come see my week here. Happy reading!

The first few chapters of Wilder Girls is weird. I'll get it finished as soon as I can.
