Birds & Other Animals with Pablo Picasso: 02/23/20

Birds & Other Animals with Pablo Picasso

Birds & Other Animals with Pablo Picasso is a board book that features some simple line sketches and whimsical descriptions. The drawings, done often as a single black curving line could be replicated in twisted wire or string or similar.

I read the book during my research stage for a summer art camp I was designing. I like the simplicity of the designs. Minimalism is something children can do, but don't always want to do on the belief that adults expect there to be more to a drawing.

On the practical side, though, these sketches if used as a lesson as is wouldn't take more than half an hour to maybe an hour out of six hours of art camp time.
