Giant Days Volume 12: 02/20/20
Giant Days Volume 12 by John Allison opens with the aftermath of the Australia trip (see volume 11). Things are rocky between Ed and his girlfriend. She's falling into old habits, including excessive drinking with her teammates. Ed has to decide what to do — stick with her or move on. As their university time is winding down, all the scenarios are outside of school. It's the various characters trying at adulting. Some are successful, some less so. Some reach success at the expense of everyone else's mental wellbeing. My favorite of the scenarios is Daisy learning to drive. Daisy who throughout the series has been the one who has it together, is singlehandedly taking out the entire driving school. She's a different person behind the wheel — simultaneously too trusting and too reckless. Yet, somehow when all is on the line, she manages to pass her test and not run over friends. Volume 13 releases on June 16, 2020. Four stars Comments (0) |
