This Spell Can't Last: 02/22/21
This Spell Can't Lastby Isabel Sterling is an ebook prequel to These Witches Don't Burn (2019). This is the trip to New York where Hannah and Veronica are lured in by some local witches and end up breaking up over the experience. Normally I'm of the opinion that publication order is the way to go when reading a series, even if later stories are technically prequels. In this case, I would recommend anyone who hasn't started the series, start here. The extended flashbacks in the first book are disjointed and would work better if a reader goes into them knowing the full story. Plotwise, though, the story reminds me of a combination of School-Tripped by Jennifer L. Holm and Matthew Holm (2020) and Three Quarters Dead (2010). Four stars Comments (0) |
