The Walled Flower: 08/05/21
The Walled Flower by Lorraine Bartlett is the second of the Victoria Square mystery series. Kate is heartbroken to learn her beloved Webster mansion has been bought and is in the process of being converted into the B&B she so desperately wants to open. Things are further complicated when a skeleton is found inside a wall and one of Kate's Artisan Alley sellers recognizes the body! Kate agrees to help track down the killer. But she's also forced to contend with an unhappy vendor accusing another vendor of theft and sabotage. Is someone taking her dolls or is she doing it herself to frame the other? On the personal front, Kate needs somewhere new to live. Can she find a new apartment or house in time? Why won't her pizza making boyfriend let her live above the store? The cold case mystery is the easier of the two to solve. What keeps the book interesting is the amount of detail put into the troubles Kate has in running Artisan Alley. Keeping conflicting personalities happy and making the business profitable are a nonstop, exhausting endeavor. The third book is One Hot Murder (2013). Five stars Comments (0) |
