Beat the Backlist 2022: 01/01/22

Beat the Backlist
Hosted by Austine of Novel Knight.

I'm starting off the new year by thinking about my reading goals. My speed of reading has dropped off in recent months. I have other projects keeping me busy. So on Goodreads, I'm setting my goal to 250, down from previous years where I've set and met a goal of 300.

The Beat the Backlist goal, though, is focused on books published in previous years. My most basic goal for this challenge is to have half my reading be backlist. Numerically that would be a minimum of 125 books.

My focus, though, will be on the remaining books purchased in 2021, 2020 and 2019 as well as older books acquired last year either through purchase or through Paperback Swap. .

My 2021 purchases weren't as numerous as 2020 or 2019, but I still have some left overs. I will continue to pair down my purchases. I have boxes of books still in storage that need to be read or donated. COVID precautions have stalled those plans.

Below is my list of unread books from 2021, 2020 and 2019. I will cross them out as I read them. I will also add other books to the list as I read them, and will bold them.
