DON'T TOUCH THAT!: A Sci-Fi and Fantasy Parenting Anthology: 08/20/24

DON'T TOUCH THAT!: A Sci-Fi and Fantasy Parenting Anthology

DON'T TOUCH THAT!: A Sci-Fi and Fantasy Parenting Anthology edited by Jaymee Goh (2022) is a crowd funded anthology of science fiction and fantasy short stories that feature stories about parents doing their best in extraordinary times. The collection has twenty-one stories and I've included the list below.

I am glacially slow at reading short story collections. This book took fifteen months to finish. In the past I've written individual reviews of each story as I work my way through a book. This time, though, I'm just going to leave you with general impressions.

They're all good. There's a nice balance of sub genres. Each one is just the right length to read one before bed.

  1. "Let us start the story another way" by Brit E. B. Hvide
  2. "Mothers Love, Father's Place" by Oghenechovwe Donald Ekpeki
  3. "Parenting in Daemonum Extremis" by Valerie Valdes
  4. "Life 2.0" by Sylvia Liu
  5. "The Leige-Mother" by N. E. Davenport
  6. "There is No One Else" by Devon Madson
  7. "Supermom" by Jess Hernandez
  8. "Parallel" by Adrienne Maree Brown
  9. "When I grow up (a spirit walker universe story)" Kate Elliott
  10. "At the Turning of the Year" by Rowenna Miller
  11. "Careful the Things You Say" by K.A. Doore
  12. "Called to the Office" by Melissa Caruso
  13. "Celeste" by Rob Hart
  14. "Paranoia" by Mark Oshiro
  15. "What to Expect When" by Alex London
  16. "$126" by Karen Osborne
  17. "Stasis" by Mike Chen
  18. "Swan Song" by Megan Molin
  19. "The Most Wanted Daughter" by Keena Roberts
  20. "The World Wasn't Ready for You" by Justin C. Key
  21. "The secret language of trees" by Jenny Martin
