Death by Caramel Macchiato: 01/11/25
Death by Caramel Macchiato by Alex Erickson and Melissa Moran (Narrator) (2024) is the thirteenth book in the Bookstore Cafe mystery series. Pine Hills is hosting an inter-town murder mystery game. While following the clues, Krissy Hancock and her team discover an actual body. I would have completely missed the release of this volume were it not for Books suggesting it to me. Usually the app's recommendations are way off but this one was a delightful surprise. As Krissy noted early in the game, the clues were obvious and nonsensical. That leads to the question, why is the game set up the way it is? For a reader outside of the mystery the answer is pretty easy. Krissy, though, has some other distractions, including a failed date night and a twisted ankle. The twisted ankle trope was a popular one in 2024. Besides Death by Caramel Macchiato I read two others: A Killer Romance by Maggie Blackburn and The Lantern's Dance by Laurie R. King (2024). Five stars Comments (0) |
