My Friend Rabbit: 01/13/25
My Friend Rabbit by Eric Rohmann (2002) is a picture book about a pair of friends and a toy airplane. A problem with the airplane results in Rabbit needing to get creative to make things right. Mouse is portrayed as the sensible friend. Rabbit is impulsive and prone to trouble. Mouse, though, still trusts Rabbit because he does what he can to make things right. In this case, it's the plane being stuck up in a tall tree. The majority of this short book is Rabbit's attempt to get the plane from the tree. It involves a gag similar to that in Chicken Cheeks by Michael Ian Black and Kevin Hawkes (2009), namely a tower of animals. Of course even after the plane is reached and all is well, the book is bound to end on a variation of the inciting incident. How will Mouse and Rabbit get out of their next problem?
