Whiskers and Lies: 02/18/24
Whiskers and Lies by Sofie Kelly and Cassandra Campbell (2022) is the fourteenth book in the Magical Cats mystery series. Georgia Tepper's estranged in-laws show up at the library demanding access to their grand-daughter. After Georgia is seen defending herself, her mother in law's body is found down a river embankment. Georgia is a returning minor character and her history with her in-laws was brought up in a previous volume. It's been well established that Georgia isn't a violent person. Kathleen and her friends will do what they do best to help solve the murder. The B plot of this volume is the on-going pranks in the gazebo outside the library. This mystery is also solved in a satisfactory way. Observant readers will figure out who is behind the installations before Kathleen. I found this volume a quick and enjoyable read. Neither mystery was particularly hard to solve but the puzzles were still fun to work through. There's none of the previous forced love triangles, meaning the focus is on the mysteries. The next book is Paws to Remember (2023). Five stars Comments (0) |
