Murder at the Rusty Anchor: 03/28/25
Murder at the Rusty Anchor by Maddie Day and Rachel Dulude (Narrator) (2024) is the sixth book in the Cozy Capers Book Group mystery series. On a rainy July weekend the woman who runs the Rusty Anchor drags Mac Almeida in to see what she's found: the body of Bruce Byrne. Bruce Byrne had been Mac's English teacher back in high school. That was the last she'd seen him until now. Now she's in the middle of investigating his murder with the help of her book club friends. She knew first hand how awful a person he had been. Now she learns the full truth of how bad he had been. That said, there's someone worse, a murderer. This is one of those mysteries where the clues are laid bare early in the novel. I knew how it was done within the first chapter or so. Mac knows fairly quickly who had done it. But she needs more time to figure out the how and we all need more time to figure out why. That said it was a fun mystery. Of course I adore her bird, Belle. Belle gets a chance again to be a big damn hero. I love how she continues to be an important part of the books despite Mac being married and the two of them moved into a larger place. The next book in the series is Murder at Cape Costumers which releases August 26, 2025. Five stars Comments (0) |
