Word to the Wise: 03/24/24
Word to the Wise by Jenn McKinlay and Allyson Ryan (Narrator) (2019) is the tenth book in the Library Lover's Mystery series. Lindsey Norris in the final months' run-up to her wedding is being stalked by a rose growing creep named Aaron Grady. When he's found murdered outside the library Lindsay and her fiancé are persons of interest. The whole run up to Aaron's murder was some of the creepiest passages I've read in a cozy mystery ever. Jenn McKinlay captures what it's like to be stalked and ignored by men in control. Allyson Ryan, the narrator, brings the fear and disgust alive in her performance. The mystery itself was an easy enough puzzle. I knew who had done it. I even had the twist figured out. All of that though was still a nice distraction from the stressful lead up to the murder. The next book is One for the Books (2020). Five stars Comments (0) |
