Bunny's Book Club: 06/07/25
Bunny's Book Club by Annie Silvestro and Tatjana Mai-Wyss (Illustrator) (2017) is about a book loving bunny and his forest friends. In the summer time Bunny listens to stories read by the librarians on the grass outside the library. When winter rolls around and story time moves inside, Bunny misses his book fix. So he finds a way in and starts taking books home to his burrow. Not only can Bunny read, but so can his friends: Bear, Porcupine and Raccoon. Pretty soon they're all sneaking into the library and taking books. But that many friends at one time means that picking out books takes time. So what happens when they are invariably caught? In reality, animal control would be called. But in a world where animals are literate and presumably can communicate this to their human counterparts, there's a funnier solution and one that plays into the credo that libraries are for everyone. There's a sequel: Bunny's Book Club Goes to School (2019). Five stars Comments (0) |
